It’s been the benchmark for which I judge all others.
I could make a list, but trust me, I have run through the gamut of boutique amps in the Marshally vein, and non, IMHO even came close to the tone I get from my JMP.
Kudos to Bill Landry for building a great take on old school Marshall goodness.
It is the first, and only, boutique amp that can holds it ground against my tone monster JMP, and honestly after many hours of A/Bing the two, I’m having a bit of trouble saying the JMP sounds better.
Maybe for my tastes it does (but I’m cutting hairs), let’s just say neither sounds “better”, just slightly different in voicing and feel.
If late 70′s to early 80′s Marshall tone is what your after with more versatility, I highly recommend you give the Landry a listen.
